Famous internet personality Gary Vaynerchuk, who went from a wine critic to an angel investor, book author, and motivational speaker, took the blockchain route last year, selling his doodles as NFTs.

The VeeFriends NFTs provide advantages such as multi-year access to his business conference, VeeCon, and other engagement opportunities with Gary.

Within months of launching his first NFT series, Gary devised a new game built around the existing and future collections. He called them Book Games

By being early to the Book Games, you can profit from the upcoming NFT drops in his collection. Moreover, if you believe in the future of NFTs and Vaynerchuk’s curating abilities, you can potentially benefit even more from Book Games in the long run.

Vaynerchuk started his NFT project with a limited drop of 10.3k VeeFriends NFTs last May. He sold them via a dutch auction for between 0.5 ETH (worth ~$2,000 at the time) and 2.5 ETH (~$10,000)—the majority were sold around the lowest price point.

The most exciting part of VeeFriends is three-year access to VeeCon, a business conference organized and hosted by Vaynerchuk. Besides the conferences, VeeFriends NFTs will also enable access to his future events.

These NFTs are currently selling at a minimum of 12.1 ETH (worth ~$30,000), a 3-10x profit on the original price.

Vaynerchuk plans to extend the original collection with VeeFriends Series 2. The team says these will be priced under $1000 in ETH. The launch is expected sometime in Spring 2022.

Given the current price of the Series 1 collection, the Series 2 NFTs almost guarantee an instant profit if you’re lucky enough to mint one. To get a chance to mint Series 2 NFTs, you have to purchase Book Games NFTs.

The Book Game NFT holders will get a 12 and half day advantage for minting pass holders to mint VeeFriends Series 2 before the public sale.

Currently, the Books Games NFTs are available on TokenTrove, an NFT marketplace on Ethereum Layer-2 platform, Immutable X. To buy them, you must first bridge your ETH to Immutable X. Follow the instructions here to transfer your ETH to the Layer-2.

The current floor price of Book Games NFTs is 0.158 ETH. The total supply of these tokens is 125,000.

What are Book Games?

To understand the Book Games and its potential long-term value, you have to rethink the idea of NFTs as simple tokens used to exchange assets.

Vaynerchuk created 125,000 pieces of Book Games NFTs for the people who purchased his bestseller novel,”Twelve and a Half,” during a promotional period in August.

These NFTs provide extra privileges in the VeeFriends ecosystem, such as exclusive passes to mint from the VeeFriends Series 2 collection. You can also burn some of these NFTs  for other NFTs. The burning mechanism reduces the supply and makes the circulating supply more valuable.

Book Games NFTs can be “burned” to purchase other NFTs from Vaynerchuk’s personal collectibles. Gary has listed 2,291 NFTs such as Bored Ape Yacht Club, Cool Cats, Wolf Game, and Meebits, and other items such as baseball cards.

So far, over 2000 Book Games tokens have been burnt to purchase NFTs from the VeeFriends marketplace. Exchanging NFTs from Vaynerchuk’s collection requires specific amounts and categories of Book Game NFTs.

For instance, this Bored Ape (~worth $400k) requires burning 858 Book Game NFTs, which must include a rare “Gratitude is the Attitude” NFT in “Gold,” along with 800 “Fur” and 58 “Emerald” frames. These features, such as Gold, Fur, and Emerald, define rarity of an NFT. You can refer to the rarity percentage of each item here

If you compare the price of the NFTs in ETH terms on OpenSea and Book Games, you’d find that Gary’s quoted prices are about 80 ETH more.

While Book Games gives some additional advantages like VeeCon passes when purchased from Gary, the premiums are too large to justify buying. The primary demand for them is likely stemming from the VeeFriends minting passes.

Nevertheless, Gary will likely readjust the requirements based on the market since he plans to run the Book Games forever.

You can compare the strategy with Pak’s Merge collection launched in December. Originally, there were more than 266,000 pieces each with a “unit mass,” a unit of account that signifies the weight of the NFT.

When a person sends (sells) the NFT to an existing user, the code combines the existing NFT with the new one to add more “mass” while burning the sender’s token. The NFTs were sold between $300-$575. The average price of the NFTs surged to 1.95 ETH (worth ~$6800) by the start of January.

As mentioned earlier, the Book Games NFTs will provide exclusive passes for minting the second series of VeeFriends. The date, amount, and exact details for Series 2 mint are not announced, except that it’ll be launched in spring.

One can expect the floor price of Book Games NFTs to surge as Vaynerchuk creates hype around the launch of the series.

Early buyers of the NFTs can exit during the hype and profit from the Book Games NFTs even before the next drop.

Furthermore, suppose you have a stronger appetite and belief in Vaynerchuk’s vision. In that case, you can purchase more than 10 NFTs (varying between common to rare) and sell some of the NFTs as the hype around the second series grows to cover your initial cost. At the same time, leverage from the ecosystem’s growth and reduced supply of NFTs in future burns.
