What is XEN?
This week I’ve found some important updates about several upcoming airdrops. But before I share them, let me explain what XEN is all about because I think you might have come across it over the past few days.
A Free Mint That Printed Thousands of Dollars
On October 9, an ex-Google developer launched a free token. Within 24 hours, the token’s minting contract accounted for half of Ethereum’s network load.

The number of XEN tokens each wallet receives depends on the number of days the wallet’s owner chooses to vest their tokens and how early they mint compared to other users. Those who minted the earliest and locked their XEN for longest should receive the biggest allocations.
Those who used multiple addresses to mint on day one made the most out of the free mint before the token’s price plunged. Interestingly, even those joining the party fairly late could make decent gains. A SIMETRI member started minting pretty late and got around $60 when XEN was $0.001. If they had used 100 wallets, they’d have paid about $1,000 in gas and booked $6,000 in profits.
The exuberance came from people driving parallels between XEN and a prominent “Ponzi” token, HEX. Plus, the dev’s experience in Google added to the project’s credibility.
If you missed out on XEN, you shouldn’t feel bad about it. While it was a good trade, for any given XEN-like token, hundreds result in immediate losses. If you aped into all of them, you probably wouldn’t survive long enough to invest in XEN.
Update Your Wallets for STARK Airdrop
If you followed my previous newsletter on Ethereum scaling solution StarkNet, I suggested using the network’s alpha version for a potential STARK token airdrop. The StarkWare team has announced an upgrade will commence soon.
The upgrade will not erase users’ activity history, but it will require updating wallets. Keep track of Starknet’s Twitter and Discord accounts for the regenesis date, after which you’ll need to update your browser’s extensions. Make sure to back up your seed phrases before updating anything, or you might lose access to your account(s)!
The update announcement also says: “Being an early adopter is not always easy, and we count on you to do your part!” The team’s recognition of “early adopters” further suggests that a STARK airdrop is imminent.
Things You Can Do to Get SUI
A few weeks ago, I mentioned the two offspring of Facebook’s blockchain project, Aptos and Sui. The Aptos ecosystem is the larger of the two for now, but Sui should soon catch up.
Sui developer Mysten Labs recently secured a $300 million investment round led by FTX Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, Coinbase Ventures, and Binance Labs. With this kind of money, the team will likely start incentivizing builders in the near future.
In my last update, I talked about some activities on Aptos devnet to become eligible for a potential airdrop. Here’s what you can do on Sui.
- Download and install the Sui Wallet browser extension for Chrome here. After you set up an account, you’ll need testnet tokens.
- You can request funds from the #devnet-faucet channel on Sui’s Discord. Copy your Sui wallet address, go to the #devnet-faucet channel and enter !faucet <YOUR ADDRESS>.

You can play around with a few dApps, such as testing the .sui domain name service here. Alternatively, you can try a few applications through the Sui Wallet, like minting an NFT or playing games.
Free NFTs From Chiliz
Chiliz Chain 2.0 (CC2) is an independent blockchain network that will enable Chilliz’s partner franchises—which include some of the world’s biggest football clubs—to mint NFTs, issue fan tokens and promote other activities like play-to-earn games, fantasy sports, and betting.
The team launched the testnet version of CC2 earlier this year. An airdrop in the traditional sense isn’t likely because the Chiliz project already has a native token, CHZ.
However, a moderator in the project’s Discord server said: “There will be a special Scoville NFT series on the testnet, which will give you some benefits on the mainnet.”
To mint the Scoville Testnet NFTs, you need to add Chiliz 2.0’s testnet to your MetaMask wallet. Select the ‘Networks’ section of your wallet (for instance, it displays “Ethereum Mainnet” in the image below). Then click on ‘Add Networks.’

Enter the following details of the Scoville Testnet.
Network Name | Chiliz Scoville Testnet |
Chain ID | 88880 |
New RPC URL | https://scoville-rpc.chiliz.com/ |
Currency Symbol | CHZ |
Block Explorer URL | https://scoville-explorer.chiliz.com |
Next, you’ll need some test tokens. You can add them by navigating to this URL.
Finally, to mint the NFT series, go here, connect your MetaMask wallet on the ‘Chiliz Scoville Testnet,’ and mint an NFT.

Remember what I said about XEN earlier in this newsletter? This might be the time to learn from experience and mint multiple NFTs with different addresses.
